Joe misses out in Asia

Joe recently traveled to Bangkok in Thailand to compete at The Asian Tour Qualifying School. The First stage of qualifying at Windsor Park Golf & Country Club proved to be a tough school!

After opening with a below average round of 75 (+3), Joe battled back well shooting 69 (-3) to comfortably make the cut.  Following up with rounds of 74 and 71, Joe finished on a total 289 (+1) which left him in 44th place.  Unfortunately only the top 19 players and ties progressed into final stage down in Hua Hin.  The standard was extremely high boasting a felid of tour players and previous asian tour players.  -25 won the event and -7 made it through proving how good the standard was! The full leaderboard can be found HERE

“I played really well all week! I made 15 birdies with plenty left out there but there was too many mistakes made.  The heat and humidity killed me in round 1 an 3! Two double bogeys and a triple cost me massively! “

“The course was great! It had plenty of water, tight fairways and slopey greens! I was fighting the blocks all week off the tee, unfortunately for me, all the water was on the right of the holes!”

“Im gutted I didn’t make it through, but the experience is invaluable! I’ve had such a great week, I met loads of new friends and contacts and I’ve learnt so much about where my game is and where I want it to be in the future!”

Failing to qualify on the Asian Tour, Joe earns a category onto the Asian development tour (a feeder tour to the main tour).   Full details can be found at

“I just want to thank all the people the allowed me the opportunity to go to Asia and play! Another learning curve and now I’m looking forward to playing a full season on the MENA Tour, time to chase that big Win!!”
